A faith based perspective is available for those individuals that would like to integrate their faith. Each client is met where they are at with regards to their faith journey and relationship with Jesus. Integrating biblical principles such as unconditional love, forgiveness, grace, mercy, truth, justice, and our identity in Christ can have a significant impact in the therapeutic process and your own personal growth, insight and healing.
Spiritual Issues
Are you questioning why God is doing what he’s doing or if he is listening to you? Are you struggling with sin, issues of mental health, or insecurities and find it hard to open up to others because you don’t want others to know? Counseling can help you connect with God, let go of shame and guilt, and allow God to restore you. Remove barriers to your faith that might be internal or external and live in peace with yourself and God. Are you experiencing or have you experienced spiritual abuse or church hurt of some form? This is a safe place to share your experiences and not to get preached at.
Beliefs and Background
I do have a personal relationship with God and believe wholeheartedly in His promises, His truth and His power. To simplify beliefs – I believe that the Bible is the word of God, 2 Timothy 3:16,17 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” As far as my “religious/faith” training and involvement, I attended Palm Beach Atlantic University majoring in Christian Social Ministries with a psychology minor, and then a Social Work Masters program from a Catholic University in Miami FL. I attended the Focus on the Family Institute in Colorado to further study Christian worldview, marriage and family studies. I’ve volunteered and have been employed by churches, various ministries and understand the many dynamics that come with those organizations. What is important to note is the reality that I don’t have it all together, but I know the One who does.
